Business and Administration has five online units.
- Unit one: Principles of personal responsibilities and working in a business environment.
- Unit two: Principles of providing administrative services.
- Unit three: Principles of managing information and producing documents.
- Unit four: Principles of supporting change in a business environment.
- Unit five: Principles of supporting business events.
Course details
To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration, learners must complete all five units.
Here's a taste of what's covered.
Unit one: Principles of personal responsibilities and working in a business environment
This unit is about understanding employment rights; health, safety and security; working with others; and managing and improving work in a business environment.
Unit two: Principles of providing administrative services
This unit is about the knowledge and understanding needed to complete core administrative tasks in the business environment.
Unit three: Principles of managing information and producing documents
This unit is about the knowledge needed to manage information and produce documents.
Unit four: Principles of supporting change in a business environment
This unit is about the reasons for change in working methods, products or services in a business environment.
Unit five: Principles of supporting business events
This unit is about the ways in which event support can be provided and the types of problems that can occur.
How long does it take?
Business and Administration is designed as a 104–hour course. Pupils can study flexibly at their own pace depending upon the time made available for their studies.
Course delivery and assessment
The course is offered online with vision2learn – an innovative web-based learning system, which you and your pupils can access via PC from school or home. The online course contains all of the learning content needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course, as well as activities to enable your pupils to practise their skills and test their learning receiving additional help and support from you as you are always just a click away.
About the qualification
Studying Business and Administration leads to the accredited qualification Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration (QCF), which helps your pupils to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of this subject.
In order to successfully achieve the qualification your pupils will need to complete a series of assessments as they work through each unit of the course. You will assess these and they will build up to form each pupil’s portfolio of evidence of learning. A Certificate will be awarded on satisfactory submission of evidence of learning for all five units.

As this is an online course, you will need access to:
- An Internet enabled PC running Microsoft Windows operating system
- Web browser – Internet Explorer 8.0; Firefox 8.0 (or later); Google Chrome 15.0 (or later)

- JavaScript should be enabled
- Microsoft Word or similar word processing package
