CLAiT Plus using Microsoft Office 2003

CLAiT Plus gives learners the opportunity to develop their IT skills, covering word processing, spreadsheets, emailing, database techniques and e-presentations.

The CLAiT Plus qualification consists of 8 Units in total. In this vision2learn course, learners will have the opportunity to study 5 of these Units – Units 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.

Unit one: Integrated e-document production
Unit two: Manipulating spreadsheets and graphs
Unit three: Creating and using a database
Unit four: Design an e-presentation
Unit five: Electronic communication

Course details

In this course, learners will need to work through all 5 Units to achieve the Diploma. Alternatively, a Certificate can be awarded upon completion of 3 Units (Unit one is mandatory and learners then have the choice to study any 2 of the remaining Units).

How long does it take?

CLAiT Plus using Microsoft Office 2003 is designed as a 150-hour course. Learners can flexibly study at their own pace, depending upon the time made available for their studies.

Course delivery and assessment

The course is offered online with vision2learn – an innovative web-based learning system, which you and your pupils can access via PC from school or home. The online course contains all of the learning content needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course, as well as activities to enable your pupils to practise their skills and test their learning receiving additional help and support from you as you are always just a click away.

About the qualification

Studying CLAiT Plus using Microsoft Office 2003 leads to the accredited OCR Level 2 Certificate / Diploma for IT Users, which helps your pupils to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of this subject.

In order to successfully achieve a qualification, your pupils will need to complete a series of Assessments as they work through each Session of the course, which they’ll send to you through the v-mail system on vision2learn. You will assess these and they will build up to form each pupil’s portfolio of evidence of learning. A certificate will be awarded on satisfactory submission of evidence of learning for the five Units of the course.
