Improving your Learning and Performance gives learners the opportunity to develop a range of practical skills that they can use to maximise their ability to learn and enhance their effectiveness in the workplace.

Course details
In this course, learners will work through three study Sessions. Here’s a taste of what they will cover:
Session 1 – How to improve your ability to learn by setting targets
- In this first session, learners will learn about the importance of setting targets for their learning and find out some useful techniques for effective goal setting.
Session 2 – Creating a plan
- Once the learner has their target in mind, this session will help them to create a plan to achieve it. They will learn how to develop some action points, decide on the resources they need and put their plan into action.
Session 3 – Reviewing progress and achievements
- In the final session, learners will take a look at the progress they have made and evaluate the effectiveness of their learning.
How long does it take?
Improving your Learning and Performance is designed as a 30-hour course. Learners can flexibly study at their own pace, depending upon the time made available for their studies.
Course delivery and assessment
The course is offered online with vision2learn– an innovative web-based learning system, which you and your pupils can access via PC from school or home. The online course contains all of the learning content needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course, as well as activities to enable your pupils to practise their skills and test their learning receiving additional help and support from you as you are always just a click away.
About the qualification
Studying Improving your Learning and Performance leads to the accredited NCFE Level 2 Key Skills Certificate in Improving own Learning and Performance, which helps your pupils to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of this subject.
In order to successfully achieve a qualification your pupils will need to complete a series of assessments as they work through each Session of the course, which they’ll send to you through the v-mail system on vision2learn. You will assess these and they will build up to form each pupil’s portfolio of evidence of learning. A certificate will be awarded on satisfactory submission of evidence of learning for the three Sessions of the course.
The computer kit needed
- An Internet enabled PC running MS Windows and Internet Explorer 5 (or later), or Netscape 6 (or later), with JavaScript and cookies enabled
- Email software and an active email account
- Microsoft Word or similar word processing package
- Download Flash player
- Download Adobe Acrobat.
